Winger Wonderkids in FIFA 21

One of the most exciting positions on the pitch. Who doesn’t love burning past an opponent to get a cross away from the byline? Or maybe you prefer bursting away from a stand off into a more central position to have an effort on goal? Either way you’re going to need talented players out wide. Whatever formation you use, whatever your style of play, we’ve scouted the best winger wonderkids in FIFA 21 – enjoy!

10. Mason Greenwood (RM)

The United youngster did make our list of striker wonderkids but is a more natural fit on the wing. Five star weak foot ability does of course mean he’s just as effective out on the left and can get to the byline or cut in. Even with a 77 rating he’s capable of causing all sorts of problems thanks to his pacey dribbling style. By the time he reaches 89 overall, he’ll be a driving force in your attack and contributing with goals.

9. Takefusa Kubo (RM)

Kubo also has 89 potential but his current rating is 75. He’ll be much more affordable than Greenwood, just wait for his loan period to end, Madrid are stacked with high potential wingers anyway. His strengths are darting into space and dribbling past defenders. He’s not big or strong so you’ll need to use his pace and trickery to get the better of opponents.

8. Thiago Almada (LW)

The final name on our list with 89 potential, Almada has featured on some of our other FIFA 21 wonderkids lists but he’s stronger on the wing. For a 73 rated player, his pace and dribbling attributes are fantastic. That being said, he’s also able to score goals from close range or from distance.

7. Rodrygo (RW)

Despite his 79 rating, he’s already an elite dribbler and is capable of insane bursts of speed. The promise of his 90 potential is why he was snapped up by Real Madrid, it will probably take a big offer to convince them to sell. He’s not only about dribbling, he can also link the play and is an effective finisher. With some extra training he could even be a decent free kick taker.

6. Ansu Fati (LW)

If the idea of a 90 potential winger interests you, Fati’s contract situation is likely to make him the more affordable option. Rated 76 overall, his profile is very similar to Rodrygo’s, although his poor stamina attribute means you’ll regularly be substituting him. His dribbling stats aren’t as good but he does have four star weak foot and skill moves at least.

5. Trincão (RW LW)

Another Barcelona player, Trincão already has a slightly higher rating at 78 but also has the higher potential (91). He’s a stronger dribbler but also less reliant on pace. If you choose to add him to your squad, he needs to train either his crossing or finishing ability – without one of those he doesn’t have much end product.

4. Jadon Sancho (RM)

Already world class at 87 overall but he will still improve massively on his way to reaching 93. Of course his stats are going to be higher but he does offer a lot more in his all round game and isn’t simply a carrier of the ball. He has no real weaknesses in any of the areas you’re going to depend on him for. At a push you would focus on his low strength and long shot attributes, but given his dribbling ability and skill moves – he shouldn’t need either.

3. Kai Havertz (RM)

So far, Havertz is possibly going to offer you the most direct threat because of his fantastic eye for goal. Even with a good striker in your team, Havertz will be competing for top scorer every year. Matches Sancho for potential (93) but despite his lower rating (85), he’s unlikely to be cheaper having just signed for Chelsea.

2. Vinícius Jr. (LW)

Real Madrid really do have a lot of talented youngsters. Vinícius Jr might only have an 80 rating right now but his 93 potential is why he’s second in our list of winger wonderkids in FIFA 21. He’s insanely fast, 95 for both sprint speed and acceleration is why he’s on our list of this year’s fastest players. Even if you can’t take advantage of his five star skill moves, dribbling is his main strength. Aside from that, he’ll need to work to develop some end product.

1. Kylian Mbappé (LW RW)

His 91 finishing means you’ll probably use him as a striker, but maybe not. He can still do a lot of damage from the wing and would instantly upgrade any front line. Only 21, he’s already one of the best players in FIFA 21 because of his 90 rating and will continue to develop thanks to his insane 95 potential. His pace, dribbling and abundance of end product means he’s still one of the best wingers in the game.
