Attacking Midfielder Wonderkids in FIFA 21
If you’re playing a formation that uses the CAM position, it feels like they’re the nucleus of your team. Popping up everywhere, dictating the play and always involved in goals. That’s probably why it was always the position of choice during the heyday of Pro Clubs online, not the mention the fact they always had well rounded stats. As always, we’ve done the work for you to rank the best attacking midfielder wonderkids in FIFA 21.
10. Riqui Puig
Despite his 75 rating, he’s already an accomplished passer. He’s likely to hold the Playmaker speciality even before he reaches his 88 potential. His ball control and dribbling are also very good, so in the unlikely scenario he can’t find a pass, he can dribble his way out of trouble. We’d recommend Puig anyway, but he only has a year left so you’d actually be silly not to go and purchase him.
9. Giovanni Reyna
This American youngster’s attributes don’t quite stand out as much, but he is rated lower at 73. However, he’s also a smart purchase because he’s also got 88 potential and less than a year to run on his contract. Even with limited gametime and some training, he’ll develop into a fantastic player.
8. Pedri
You’re spoilt for choice in the CAM because here’s another player with a short contract. At 72 overall, he doesn’t look like much but his 88 potential pretty much guarantees he’ll be running games for Barcelona (or someone else) in future. Four stars for weak foot ability as well as skill moves is useful in this position, as is his already impressive range of passing.
7. Florian Wirtz
If you’re managing a lower level club, maybe in the second division, pay attention. Wirtz is the first of two attacking midfielder wonderkids in FIFA 21 in the top ten but also realistic for some smaller teams. If your budget will stretch to it (two years left on his contract at Leverkusen), you can bag yourself a 70 rated midfielder that could play for you straight away if you need the help. Most importantly though, is his 88 potential – which would multiply your initial investment and help propel you to success if you were to sell him.
6. Rayan Cherki
The second is Cherki, who has a lower rating at 68 but a longer contract. His dribbling is already fantastic and his free kick ability looks promising. He’s versatile, has five stars for weak foot as well as skill moves plus the fact that he’ll grow another 20 points to 88 overall. He’ll be tearing it up for someone in a few years, don’t let it be a rival.
5. Martin Ødegaard
At number five the potential jumps up slightly to 89 but so does the starting rating (83). After many years of showing promise, it looks like he’s finally developed into a really talented CAM. A fantastic playmaker, he can also put great crosses in from the wing. Just like a lot of players on this list he’s fantastic with the ball at his feet but he also possesses the ability to strike accurate free kicks.
4. Thiago Almada
Can match Ødegaard for potential (89) but his initial rating of 73 means he’s much easier to acquire. Even at his current rating, his attributes are nicely balanced and he adds a real goal threat from midfield. Not only that but his volley attribute and acrobat speciality means he’s able to score some absolute stunners. You’ll find this young Argentinian at Vélez Sarsfield.
3. Trincão
Into the final three now and we break through to 91 potential. Barcelona’s Trincão has very good dribbling and ball control considering his 78 rating. Versatile (he also made our list of winger wonderkids) and there’s lots in his profile to be excited about. He’s not going to be cheap, but then the best players rarely are.
2. Jadon Sancho
Even though his profile mentions RM, his best positions are attacking midfield and RW. If you can beat Manchester United to signing the 87 rated England international, you’ll have one hell of a player on your hands. His attributes are already insane, they’ll only improve while he grows to 93 overall.
1. Kai Havertz
Beats Sancho to be ranked top of the attacking midfielder wonderkids in FIFA 21. He does have the same potential (93), but a lower starting rating (85) means he’s cheaper in theory (unlikely because of their differing contract situations). However, in his preferred CAM role, Havertz is really an 87 rated player. It’s not going to be easy to take him from Chelsea, so the likelihood is that he’s one of the top players in the Premier League for the next few years. His profile is just incredible, no he can’t take free kicks, but you probably don’t even win many of those.
