FIFA 19 Striker Wonderkids

UPDATE: If you’re looking for high potential youngsters in FIFA 21, check out our guide to Striker Wonderkids in FIFA 21.

The Most Promising Young Strikers in FIFA 19

Hunting down the hottest young talent in career mode is a lot of fun, we can even get a little bit obsessed with it. You’re strengthening your squad for the future and simultaneously weakening others, what’s not to like. Goals win games, so we decided to start with FIFA 19 Striker Wonderkids. We’ve created a shortlist of strikers for you to review, with a little information about each. Fifty players in total means there’s hopefully something for even the smaller budgets and playing style. We know it’s tempting to skip right to #1, but we recommend reading through the entire list to really get a feel for the differences between the players. Without further ado, here is our shortlist for FIFA 19 Striker Wonderkids.

FIFA 19 Striker Wonderkids – Top 50

50. Jean-Phillipe Mateta

Kicking off our list of FIFA 19 Striker Wonderkids is Jean-Phillipe Mateta. He’s strong, tall and good at heading the ball, but not slow and still a good finisher. Rated 72 at the moment but has the potential to reach 83.

49. Fedor Chalov

Low defensive work rate but his 4* weak foot ability makes up for it. 71 rated now and can reach 83, his contract with CSKA only runs until 2020 so could be a cheaper option.

48. Alexander Isak

Also with 83 potential but starts out at 69 overall. The Dortmund striker has been one to watch for a few years.

47. Tyler Roberts

68 rated now, could be 83 in the future. Good pace, dribbling and a solid penalty taker to boot.

46. Han Kwang Song

5* weak foot ability and a potential of 83 makes him an attractive prospect. Unfortunately he’s on loan from Cagliari so isn’t available for the first season, by the time you pick him up he will have grown a little from his 68 starting point.

45. Tomas Chancalay

This promising youngster can reach 83 one day, though he’s rated 68 currently. Can play in a few different positions and is a pacey dribbler.

44. Abel Ruiz

If Barcelona can keep hold of Ruiz, they’ll have another well-rounded goalscorer in their ranks. Rated 67 overall, so unlikely to displace Suarez anytime soon but could be first choice striker at any team when he reaches 83.

43. Lukas Nmecha

Currently rated at 66 and playing in the Championship but a potential of 83 means he’s destined for greater things. Having 4* weak foot ability is an added bonus.

42. Patson Daka

Even with just a 66 rating, his blistering pace would warrant the occasional substitute appearance if you’re chasing a goal. Will be a menace when he hits his 83 potential.

41. Musa Barrow

66 rated Barrow is pacey and strong. Like many on our list of FIFA 19 Striker Wonderkids he has 83 potential, but it might be worth training some of his technical attributes.

40. Borja Garces

Shot power seems to be Garces’ standout stat, but that could change by the time he reaches his 83 potential. He’s currently only 64 and playing for Atletico Madrid.

39. Julian Carranza

A hard working and well-rounded Argentinian striker. Potentially a bargain while rated 63 overall but with 83 potential.

38. Lenny Pintor

Rated 62 and can grow to 83. Able to play on the left wing and provides good dribbling and finishing.

37. Adam Idah

Currently rated 62 and looks to fit the mould of a target man, given his height, jumping and heading accuracy. Encouragingly, he’s quicker than you would expect and will improve further on the way to hitting 83 overall.

36. John Yeboah

Certainly not a target man, this pacey youngster can also play on the left wing (he’s left footed). Only 60 overall to begin with but there are only so many strikers that will reach 83.

35. Gianni Azzinnari

A 59 rated striker shouldn’t set you back too much, making Azzinnari fantastic value for money if he gets anywhere near his 83 potential.

34. Enes Unal

Great finishing and shot power, but to be fair he’s already rated 78 overall. Growing by 6 points to 84 isn’t huge, but that can be achieved within two seasons.

33. Luka Jovic

A good finisher with 4* weak foot ability. 84 potential but he starts this game at 76 so he’s unlikely to be cheap.

32. Odsonne Edouard

An excellent choice if you like physical strikers, he’s pacey and strong. Could reach 84 in the future but for now, 73 isn’t bad.

31. Dominic Solanke

The Liverpool youngster is rated 70 to begin with but his 84 potential is why the reds acquired him. An interesting option if you’re looking for a striker that can provide an aerial threat.

30. Moussa Sylla

Monaco’s youth production line continues. 84 potential is very good in a striker, even if he is only 65 at the start of the first season in FIFA 19.

29. Vladyslav Supriaga

Currently 65 overall but also has the potential to reach 84 one day. Edges out Sylla due to his pace.

28. Josh Sargent

The 64 rated American is currently playing in the Bundesliga for Werder Bremen. His 84 potential makes him a tempting target, even if you intend on loaning him out for a while.

27. Edward Nketiah

The Arsenal youngster is only 64 right now but has the potential to hit 84 one day. If you can convince the Gunners to let him go, his rapid acceleration has the ability to cause problems for opposition defences.

26. Rhian Brewster

A young, pacey striker with plenty of growth between his 62 rating and his 84 potential.

25. Reo Griffiths

The Spurs Academy graduate recently signed a contract with Olympique Lyonnais so might not be super cheap despite his 61 rating. With 84 potential, he could be a prolific goalscorer in years to come.

24. Julian von Moos

Another striker with 84 potential, he’s also a left footer. The reason we rate him above the rest is his 58 overall rating, he could be a bargain buy.

23.Wesley

Makes our list because of his 85 potential and 77 overall rating. 4 star skill moves and high work rates are a bonus, but it’s worth remembering he’s also one of the strongest players in FIFA 19.

22. Jean-Kevin Augustin

It was very hard to decide between Jean-Kevin Augustin and Wesley. In the end, Augustin’s pace and finishing ability are more valuable. Also 77-85.

21. Kasper Dolberg

76 rated with 85 potential, so he’s more of a ready made striker than a future investment. His attribute profile suggests he should play similarly to Harry Kane.

20. Tammy Abraham

On loan at Aston Villa from Chelsea so won’t be available in the first season. Beyond that, he’s likely to have grown past his 74 rating and towards his potential of 85.

19. Emmanuel Dennis

Also rated 74 with 85 potential. Dennis edges out Abraham due to his pace and ability to operate on the wings.

18. Maximiliano Romero

The 70 rated Argentine striker isn’t exactly a hard worker, but if he reaches his 85 potential he could be a very effective poacher.

17. Matheus Cunha

Another promising youngster at RB Leipzig, they must have very good scouts. Only 70 overall right now but can hit 85 one day.

16. Timothy Weah

Hard-working with 85 potential. Maybe PSG won’t mind you buying their 69 rated attacker.

15. Erling Braut Haaland

You might struggle to remember the spelling of this one, let alone getting the pronunciation right. If you can look beyond that, you should be looking at this young Norwegian striker who is rated 68 overall. H/H work rates, 85 potential and he should only have a year left on his contract. He’s also a leftie, if you prefer that sort of thing.

14. Jonathan David

This 68 rated striker is currently playing in the Belgian League and will be soon taking it by storm thanks to his 85 potential – providing somebody else doesn’t come in and buy him.

13. Myron Boadu

Comes out on top of the 85 potential FIFA 19 Striker Wonderkids because of his 66 starting rating. It’s well worth paying AZ Alkmaar’s asking price as he has 4* weak foot and high attacking work rate.

12. Lautaro Martinez

86 potential, 4* skill moves and 4* weak foot. It’s obvious why he’s a popular choice for the second year running. In FIFA 19 however, he’s rated 79 overall and playing for Inter.

11. Breel Embolo

Probably a name you’ll recognise, he’s had high potential in the last few instalments of FIFA. Serious injuries haven’t helped but he hasn’t exactly set the world alight since his move to Schalke. Rated at 76 and well-developed physically, he could be a good addition to your team before he reaches his 86 potential.

10. Rafael Leao

Probably won’t be a cheap option considering his contract doesn’t expire until 2023. Add that to the fact he is already rated 72 and has a potential of 86. Having a four star rating on both weak foot and skill moves will be pleasing to many managers.

9. Christian Kouame

His H/L work rates show that he is much more interested in making goals than defending them, but his 4* weak foot makes up for that in most eyes. Currently a respectable 71 overall for a 20 year old, he can reach 86 before the end of his career.

8. Amine Gouiri

You’ll need to buy him out of his medium length contract if you want to acquire him well before he reaches his 86 potential. He still has some way to go at 67 overall but is hard working in attack.

7. Willem Geubbels

Rated at 64 overall and with fairly uninspiring M/L work rates, he’s unlikely to walk straight into your starting XI. 86 potential is a gamechanger though and makes him at least a smart investment.

6. Felipe Vizeu

His contract length might be off-putting but he is the highest ranked left footer in our list of FIFA 19 Striker Wonderkids. Starting out at 75 overall, he can reach 87 given time.

5. Moise Kean

18 years old and pretty well rounded for 72 overall. His contract with Juventus only runs until 2020, sign him and help him reach his 87 potential.

4. Jann-Fiete Arp

The 69 rated German is already drawing admirers from across Europe. He’s a highly rated youngster who has the potential to reach 88 overall. His contract expires in 2020, this should help keep his price down.

3. Pietro Pellegri

Sadly, Pietro doesn’t have a great left foot on him. Not a great way to start for our #3 striker, lets see if we can convince you. He should be a relatively cheap option given his 67 rating and has a 21 growth potential which would see him reach 88 overall. His high attacking work rate also means he edges out Arp.

2. Patrick Cutrone

Cutrone makes the number two spot because of his 89 potential. 4* skill moves might be useful to you and his 77 rating might be a good middle ground to start with.

1. Gabriel Jesus

Gabriel Jesus Striker
Gabriel Jesus Potential

Head and shoulders above the rest of the FIFA 19 Striker Wonderkids. His 92 potential is unrivalled and his 83 overall rating means he’s likely to be a guaranteed starter straight away. If that’s not enough, he has 4* skill moves and H/H work rates. The real question is, do you have the money to prise him away from Manchester City? Best striker FIFA 19 hands down.
