The FIFA 98 soundtrack was the first of its kind. It seems strange now that it only contained six songs, four of which were from one artist. But this was over two decades ago! Look at how different the game itself was back then.
Soundtracks weren’t really given as much thought back then. One of the contributing factors for this would have been the limited storage space on the discs back then.
There’s a recurring theme in the earlier soundtracks where futuristic techno music dominates. Thinking back, a lot of games at the time did this. We’re not sure if it was an attempt to make the games feel more cutting edge than they were or if it was just popular at the time.

Keep Hope Alive – The Crystal Method
More – The Crystal Method
Now Is The Time – The Crystal Method
Song 2 – Blur
Undoubtedly the standout song on the FIFA 98 soundtrack. Song 2 is certainly the track that we remember most and associate with FIFA 98. The only problem with the limited number of songs on the soundtrack is that this one almost feels out of place amongst five techno tracks.
