Note: If for some reason you’re looking for last year’s guide to youth scouting, you can check it out here.
What is Youth Scouting?
This is one of my favourite aspects of career mode and crucial to keeping a save interesting over several seasons. As players in the game get older, they’ll begin to decline and eventually retire. This would shrink the player base massively within a few seasons so the game needs a way to generate new players. This tends to happen automatically, mostly with regens and pregens at other clubs but you’ll need to generate your own new players.
This is where youth scouting comes to the fore in FIFA 19. In real life, children are scouted from much younger ages to join club academies but in the game you’ll be able to assess young players aged between 15 and 18. As you discover players of different positions and playing styles, you’ll also get a feel for their ability (overall rating) and potential. Just like in real life, some players will disappoint, others might be mediocre but the aim here is to find players that have high potential.
There are a number of different options available to you when scouting for youth players, some of which can seem confusing or counter intuitive to new players. For this reason I’ve produced this guide to make sense of the entire process and help you find some future superstars. Long story short, if you’re looking for FIFA 19 best young players, this is a great place to start.
FIFA 19 Youth Scouting Guide Contents
EA didn’t make many changes to career mode this year, youth scouting was no exception. For that reason and the fact that it worked well last year, I’ve kept the same basic structure to walk you through the basics of youth scouting in FIFA 19. When people are looking for FIFA 19 tips to help them in the game, this content is still very relevant.
