Thinking back to the game and the FIFA 99 soundtrack, what comes to mind? Dennis Bergkamp on the cover? Crunching tackles? Perhaps the European Dream League game mode? Whatever comes to mind, the game as a whole was an improvement on its predecessor because of a number of reasons. The graphics were one notable improvement, although if you’ve only been gaming the last 10 years or so, you’ll wonder how anyone survived this era.
In other words, be grateful for what we have now.
FIFA 99 Soundtrack – Full Track List
- Gotta Learn (Dub Pistols Sick Junkie Remix) – Danmass
- Naked and Ashamed – Dylan Rhymes
- Passion – Gearwhore
- Raincry (Spiritual Thirst) – God Within (Scott Hardkiss)
- Rude Boy Rude – Lionrock
- The Rockafeller Skank – Fatboy Slim
Still a small number of songs on the FIFA 99 soundtrack but more variety than the previous year. The Rockafeller Skank was the song that really stuck in our mind but listening to Rude Boy Rock again was a moment of pure nostalgia.
You’re forgiven for thinking most of the other songs sound very similar, because they do. It was probably intentional, the really distinctive songs would have gotten annoying when you only have six on rotation.

Raincry (Spiritual Thirst) – God Within (Scott Hardkiss)
Another song that you can completely forget about in the 20 years since you last played this game. However, as soon as you listen to it, it all comes flooding back.
Rude Boy Rock – Lionrock
Listen to the full song and we guarantee you’ll be humming that tune all day, because it’s so damn catchy.
The Rockafeller Skank – Fatboy Slim
It’s probably because of this game but we just associate this song with football now. Not just FIFA, it makes us want to go and have a kick around.
